A 2-minute typing test gives you a steadier score than a quick 60-second check without turning into an endurance test. Type a random passage for two minutes and see your WPM and accuracy right away.
In a 1-minute test, a slow first sentence or a single stumble can move your score by several WPM. Over two minutes those moments even out, so the number you get is a fairer picture of your normal speed — useful when you're tracking your progress from week to week.
Two minutes fits easily into a short practice session. Take one test at the start to warm up and one at the end to see whether you improved, and watch your accuracy as well as your speed — aim for 95% or better.
