Race up to 5 other typists in real time. Multiplayer typing races test your speed and accuracy head-to-head, with everyone typing the same passage at once.
When you join, you are placed in a room with up to five other typists. If the room does not fill with real players, bots take the remaining places so you never wait long. Everyone gets the same passage and starts at the same moment, and you can watch each player's progress bar move as they type. When the race is over, the results show each player's speed and accuracy.
Start at your normal pace, not faster. Most races are lost in the first few seconds, when a rushed opening causes a string of mistakes that take longer to fix than the time saved. Keep your eyes on the text and not on the other progress bars. A steady rhythm with few errors beats bursts of speed, because every correction costs you several keystrokes while the other players keep moving.
Practicing alone, it is easy to settle into a comfortable pace and stay there. A live opponent adds a little pressure, which shows you whether your accuracy holds when you try to go faster. You also meet a different passage and different opponents every time, which is good practice for typing unfamiliar text. Use races alongside solo practice: build the skill on your own, then test it in a race.
